Dhishops (Standalone) — Iteration & Major Upgrades

Dhishops is a multi-shop system (free for users). When clients upgrade to their own domain, they move to a standalone version. The improvements below were made specifically to the standalone system, based on real operational needs and admin feedback.

Context

After initial launch, the standalone version needed to support more serious day-to-day operations: faster fulfillment, better catalog organization, and cleaner admin workflows — without making the system feel complex for non-technical sellers.

The goal was simple: keep Dhishops lightweight, but make standalone shops feel “production-ready.”

Upgrades

1) Orders

Pending vs Completed tabs + richer admin emails

  • Improved the Orders UI with two tabs: Pending and Completed.
  • Order notification emails to admin now include links to purchased products.
2) Product Manager

Refocused products page + richer product metadata

  • Separated responsibilities: Product Manager now handles products only.
  • Moved category management into its own dedicated area.
  • Enhanced product edit modal with multi-category, admin notes, and tags.
3) Categories & Filters

Hierarchical categories + category-specific filters (major refactor)

  • Expanded from flat categories to categories + subcategories.
  • Added filters assignable per category/subcategory (not just global filters).
  • This required a major overhaul of product saving logic and core architecture.
Biggest change: it unlocked scalable catalogs and made filtering feel relevant to each product section.
4) Bulk Editing

Batch changes across multiple products

  • Added a dedicated tab for admins to bulk edit products.
  • Admins can apply changes to multiple products at once.
5) Traffic Analytics

Visitor charts: daily → yearly

  • Added a Traffic page that visualizes website visitors.
  • Views available by day, week, month, and year.
6) Message Inbox

Centralized customer inquiries inside the admin

  • Admins can now view customer messages in a single inbox.
  • Previously, inquiries landed only in email.
7) Force Refresh

Instantly see admin-side changes

  • Added a force refresh option so admins immediately see updates they make.
8) Download Backup

Admins can export their critical data

  • Added a Backup tab so admins can download the key data they’ve uploaded.
  • Improves transparency, trust, and portability.
9) Admin Support

Support messaging inside the dashboard

  • Added an admin support box to contact the Dhishops team for issues.
  • Reduces friction vs. hunting for support channels outside the system.

Outcome

This upgrade phase pushed the standalone system from an MVP-style admin experience into a more complete, scalable storefront management tool — especially through the categories/subcategories + filter assignment refactor, bulk operations, analytics visibility, and better operational workflows for orders and messages.
